Church of St. Joseph

The Church of San Giuseppe Artigiano is located at the foot of the Castelpetroso hill. Although no certain information is available, its origins can be traced back to the 17th century. The church was likely originally smaller than it is today, as it comprises two blocks: a lower rectangular one, which encompasses the church area itself, and a quadrangular one, located at the rear. Inside the church is a statue of the saint to whom it is dedicated. The discovery of human bones near the building and the presence of two lateral rooms containing mass graves suggest that the area was used as a burial site. A monument erected in honor of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina was placed next to the church.
